If You Have Chosen Euthanasia

Making the decision to euthanize your pet can be incredibly difficult, and we are here to support you

through this challenging time. Our compassionate team will help guide you in making the best decision

for your pet, ensuring the process is as peaceful and stress-free as possible. If you have any concerns

about your pet's quality of life, please don't hesitate to contact us.

We also offer a cremation service through a licensed provider, with both group and private cremations

available. With a private cremation, your pet’s ashes will be carefully returned to you in a casket of your

choice. We are here to provide comfort and support during this emotional time.

What Will Happen on the Day?

To ensure your pet is as comfortable as possible, we will gently place an intravenous catheter, usually in their leg. This may be done in our prep area where the necessary equipment is located. Once the catheter is in place, you will have private time with your pet in a quiet room to share your final goodbyes and moments of love.

The Procedure

You are welcome to stay with your pet and comfort them as they peacefully pass. The vet will administer a powerful anaesthetic through the catheter, and your pet will drift into a deep, painless sleep before their heart gently stops. This process is very quick, lasting just a few moments, and we ensure it is as calm and peaceful as possible.

Afterward, the vet will carefully confirm that your pet has passed. In rare instances, there may be natural reflexes such as small muscle twitches, a final breath as air leaves the lungs, or occasional sounds. While these movements can be unsettling, they are completely normal and do not indicate discomfort. Your pet may also lose control of their bladder or bowels, which is a natural part of the process.

After the Procedure

You may choose to bring your pet home for burial or leave them in our care for cremation.  To make things easier on the day, we encourage you to consider these options beforehand and discuss them with our team if needed.

We know how deeply you love your pet, and we will do everything we can to support you through this difficult time. If you have questions or simply need to talk, please don’t hesitate to reach out.

We are here for you.
