Microchipping

This is a simple procedure which will help to identify your pet if stolen or lost.  Since 2016, it is a legal requirement for all dogs to be microchipped.

It involves injecting a small electronic chip (about the size of a grain of rice), under the skin of your pet where it remains for life.  It is safe to perform and generally painless.  The ISO microchip contains a unique 15 digit number which is the world standard.  This number is then registered on a government approved database.  When scanned it can reunite pets with their families.  Vets, dog wardens and animal welfare groups will scan all lost or stray animals for microchips.
