Surgery and Anaesthesia

At West Clare Vets, we adhere to a highly safe and thorough anaesthesia protocol to ensure the well-being of every patient. Before surgery, all animals undergo a full clinical examination by a Veterinary Surgeon.

 

If necessary, we perform blood tests and X-rays to confirm the patient is fit for anaesthetic.  

During surgery, we use advanced anaesthetics and pain relief tailored to the patient’s needs, with intravenous fluids administered when required.

 

Our experienced team, who perform surgeries daily, have developed significant expertise in managing even the most challenging anaesthetic cases. Patients are closely monitored throughout the procedure. You can trust that your pets are in the safest of hands.

 

Our custom-built operating theatre is fully equipped to handle a wide range of procedures, from routine surgeries to complex orthopaedic cases. We offer regular surgical appointments on Fridays and provide emergency surgical care when needed.

 

For large animals, we extend our services beyond the clinic, providing farm visits and on-site operations. Whether it’s routine health checks, surgical interventions, or emergency care, our team is equipped with the expertise and equipment to deliver high-quality care for livestock both on the farm and at our facility.
